1.  General Introduction

SI Group AT-168 is a high-performance solid organic phosphite antioxidant manufactured by Albemarle Corporation Shanghai Plant, mainly for the market in Asia market.

AT-168 with formula C42H63O3P, appearance is white crystalline powder; melting point 182°C-186.5°C; flash point 257°C; easily soluble in toluene, methylene chloride and other organic solvents, slightly soluble in esters, insoluble in water.

AT-168 has a good protective effect on the color of the polymer, and is superior to other phosphite esters. Generally, it is not used alone, and often combined with main antioxidants such as AT-10 and other phenols. The combined use of primary antioxidants can improve the thermal stability of polymer processing. This product is widely used in PE, PP, PS, polyamide, polycarbonate, ABS and other polymer materials after compounding with phenolic antioxidants. In addition, the AT-168 has also been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use with food occasions of indirect contact. AT-168 antioxidant can be combined with phenolic antioxidant, acid Neutralizers, UV stabilizers and other functional additives are used together.
